black trumpetThis past Tuesday my friends and I decided to try a new place for lunch. Having heard such great things about it, we chose The Black Trumpet on the oceanfront in Spring Lake. We were immediately impressed as we were seated on the front porch of the restaurant with a spectacular view. Probably the best view from any restaurant in Spring Lake. The weather was cooperating perfectly and that just added to the overall experience. We got the menus and the first thing I noticed was the $14.99 lunch special. It looked way too good to be true. For less than $15.00 (with this view) I could get a bowl of pasta, a salad, a choice of steak, crab cakes or shrimp and scallops. And, to top it off, you get a dessert. So, no ... Read More >

We went through all the options…the beach, movies, river, etc. We decided on mini golf and dinner. Perfect! We hopped into the car and went over to our favorite miniature golf course, at 9th Ave Pier. What a great course! All the holes are in perfect condition. It’s a differentnew-jersey-top-ten-beaches-logo question than asking, “What’s your favorite beach town?”. There are many who love the town they live in, or love the town they vacation in, but the beach they love to go to may reside somewhere else. I am going to start this blog with a quote from one of America’s greatest philosophers, Homer J. Simpson. "Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?" I am a big believer in that statement. I can come up with an excuse to eat donuts any time of the day. So, that is what compelled me to try a new donut shop in Farmingdale, The Donut and Coffee Company. I have driven by this place at least 20 times in the last couple of months and decided I needed to try it. I walked into the shop on Sunday morning and the first thing I noticed was that they don't have any donuts. Wait. What? I expected a donut shop similar to Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme where they display their donuts behind the counter. Not here. That’s because all of their donuts are made fresh to order. Their donut display consists of a menu.Donut and Coffee Co ... Read More >

Next time you are at the Monmouth Mall and looking for a bite to eat, stop by Ruby Tuesday - it may just be the perfect place to satisfy your appetite. It’s located opposite the Barnes and Noble bookstore in the main entrance closest to Macy’s.

The dining area is very large, so even at the rare times when there might be a wait, it’s never very long. If you do have to wait a few minutes until your table is ready, you can always go peruse the large selection of books across the way. And, if you just want to stop in for a quick drink, they also have a generous-sized bar area.

Every time I have eaten at Ruby Tuesday, I have always been greeted by the nicest of servers and a very welcoming atmosphere. They take your drink order and return with your drinks and a complementary

This past Sunday, we were on our way home from the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank when we decided to grab some dinner. We settled on one of my favorite places to eat: the All Seasons Diner located on Wyckoff Road in Eatontown. One of the best parts of going to a diner is that your food options are endless. The entire menu is available twenty-four hours a day. You can get pancakes for dinner or chicken and pasta for breakfast. The sky’s the limit.

We got a table facing one of their TVs, so not only was I able to eat a great meal, but I got to watch football too. Perfect spot! The waitress brought us our menus and read off the specials. I watched the different dishes come out of the kitchen as I was deciding what to order. Everything from eggs with hash browns, to chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. They all looked awesome. I started wit

Winter has hit the Jersey shore with our first winter snow and freezing cold weather. So, let me ask you, what warms you up from the cold better than hot chocolate or a steaming hot cup of coffee? And, what better place to get your coffee than your local Starbucks? There is a Starbucks conveniently located in the Brook Plaza on Route 35 in Sea Girt. One of the great things about this particular Starbucks, is that it is located in a great shopping plaza with the Gap, William Sonoma, Bellew Jewelers, and many other fine stores. You can do your holiday shopping and then pop in for your favorite Starbucks beverage.

Aside from having all of your favorite coffees, teas, and hot chocolate, during the holiday season they also provide some delectable holiday specials. They offer a Caramel Brulee Latte, a minty Peppermint Mocha, a
