Spectacular new listing in Apple Ridge, Wall Township!

IMG_2866Aaahh…Labor Day Weekend at the Jersey Shore. So many claim it to be the last weekend of summer, and recognize it with an air of melancholy. But, that’s simply not the case. Personally, I acknowledge Halloween as the end of summer at the Jersey Shore…even if that’s not the “official” end. In fact, those few weeks that follow Labor Day are potentially the best times. It gets a bit less crowded, the weather is not too hot and not too cool (still great beach weather), the kids go back to school so routines return, and there’s a freshness in the air that is invigorating. So, don’t be sad about summer coming to an end. If you live at the Jersey Shore, you still have plenty of “summer” to look forward to.

If you are down the shore this weekend, here is a sampling of some events you don’t want to miss:

  •  Allaire Bacon, Bikes & Brews: Saturday (9/2) and Sunday (9/3) from 11am -5pm. Allaire Village in Wall Township hosts it’s 2nd annual Bacon, Bikes & Brews event! Features include Beer Tent with high top tables (Only 21 yrs old and older in the beer tent), Award winning food trucks featuring Bacon menu items, Children Activities, Tours of the Historic Buildings, Craft Vendors
  • Spring Lake Art WalkThe Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce hosts their Labor Day Celebration and Art Walk down Third Avenue on Saturday, 9/2.
  • Monmouth Park BBQ & Craft Beer FestivalCelebrate everything barbecue at Monmouth Park Racetrack on Saturday (9/2) through Monday (9/4). Enjoy ribs, pulled pork, and brisket served up by some of NJ’s best barbecue joints. Then cool off in their beer garden.
  • Manasquan Labor Day CelebrationA concert by “9 South” will begin at the Main Beach at 7:30pm on Saturday, 9/2. It will be followed by a gala fireworks display. Rain Date 9/3.

But, whatever you do, don’t think of this weekend as the end of Jersey Shore fun for the year. There’s plenty to do and much to look forward to in the weeks to come. The following weeks bring the Feast of San Gennaro in Belmar, Red Bank’s Street Fair, the Tough Sander on the beach at Pier Village, Long Branch’s “Rock ‘N’ Soul Jam”, Asbury Park Oysterfest, and so much more. So, come to the Jersey Shore ~ where the fun never ends!

Marina Grille(APP.com ~ May 9, 2017)  BELMAR – The borough on Tuesday unveiled the latest piece of its redevelopment plan with the opening of a $6 million restaurant overlooking the Shark River.

The Marina Grille is being run by Chefs International, which constructed the borough-owned building under the agreement with Belmar. The borough is leasing the property to Chefs International for $250,000 a year initially.

The borough expects to receive $24 million over the 50-year term of the contract, Mayor Matt Doherty said.

The 12,000-square-foot facility and sprawling outdoor patio will have year-round casual dining. It’s adjacent to the 9th Ave Pier, a seasonal restaurant the company has been running since 2012.

“It helps make Belmar a destination away from the beach,” Doherty said.

The Marina Grille will share a concessionaire’s permit with 9th Ave Pier that allows both to sell alcohol but prohibits the permit from being sold or transferred.

Doherty said the Marina Grille will generate 200 jobs.

Chefs International owns Jack Baker’s Wharfside Restaurant in Point Pleasant Beach, Baker’s Water Street Bar & Grille in Toms River, and eight other restaurants in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida. And it has been expanding in Belmar, buying Connolly Station and renaming it the Anchor Tavern.

Whole FoodsThe newest Whole Foods store will be opening in Wall, NJ, with the Grand Opening scheduled for this coming Wednesday, 4/13, at 9:00am. This store opening, located in the shopping plaza at 1933 Route 35, will mark the third Whole Foods to open in Monmouth County.

The 39,000 square foot store will employ 175-200 workers.

Michael Sinatra, a spokesman for Whole Foods has said, “It’s really accessible from a lot of communities and a great location for the year-round residents of communities like Wall and Spring Lake, and also easy to get to for the seasonal visitors to the shore. We’ve been hearing for some time that we have a lot of people from southern Monmouth County and Ocean County who travel to our stores in Middletown and Marlboro. Now they’ll have access to the same great store, a little closer to home.”

ClydesdalesOn April 7, 1933, in commemoration of the end of Prohibition, August A. Busch Sr received the tremendous gift of a six-horse Clydesdale hitch from his sons. Realizing the marketing opportunity they could present, an additional six-horse hitch was purchased and sent to New York for a small ceremony that drew a crowd of thousands as they trotted down the seats of NYC to the Empire State Building. Over the years, the Clydesdale hitch was increased to eight horses and a Dalmatian mascot was also introduced. Anheuser-Busch now owns approximately 250.

And, now, the legendary Budweiser Clydesdales will be visiting Asbury Park for the first time in 15 years. Horse and beer lovers alike do not want to miss this special event on Thursday, July 7th. The Clydesdales will make their trek from McLoone’s all the way down to City Hall.
